Public fast chargers may not always be available near campgrounds, cabins, vacation rentals or overnight destinations. When a compatible NEMA 14-50 outlet is available, the WenStorm J1772 Road Trip EV Charging Kit gives drivers a complete portable Level 2 charging solution they can carry in their vehicle.

The kit combines a 32A J1772 portable EV charger with a 21 ft, 50A-rated J1772 extension cable. Together, they provide approximately 46 ft of combined cable reach for charging at compatible RV sites and travel destinations where the outlet is farther from the vehicle.

A Complete Portable Level 2 Charging Kit

This bundle includes the portable charger needed to connect a J1772 vehicle to a compatible NEMA 14-50 outlet. Unlike an adapter-only bundle, no separate EV charger is required.

Plug Directly Into a NEMA 14-50 Outlet

The charger’s integrated NEMA 14-50 plug connects directly to a properly installed, grounded 240V NEMA 14-50R receptacle. No separate outlet adapter is required.

Up to 32A at 240V

The portable charger supports Level 2 charging at up to 32A and approximately 7.7 kW. Actual power is limited by the vehicle, charger, outlet and electrical supply.

Approximately 20–30 Miles of Range Per Hour

A compatible EV may add approximately 20–30 miles of range per charging hour. Actual results depend on the vehicle’s efficiency, onboard charger, battery temperature, weather and electrical conditions. Larger vehicles may add fewer miles per hour.

Approximately 46 FT of Combined Reach

The portable charger includes a 25 ft cable, and the J1772 extension adds another 21 ft. The additional reach helps when the outlet is behind the campsite, on the opposite side of the parking position or farther from the vehicle than the charger cable can reach by itself.

Designed for electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids with a J1772 charging inlet, including many models from Chevrolet, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, Toyota, Volkswagen, BMW and other manufacturers. Connector standards can vary by model year, so compare your vehicle’s charging port with the product photos before ordering.

50A-Rated Extension for a 32A Charger

The extension cable is rated for up to 50A, providing capacity above the charger’s 32A output. It does not increase charging speed beyond the limits of the charger or vehicle.

Not Compatible With Other Outlet Types

The integrated plug fits NEMA 14-50R outlets only. It does not fit TT-30 RV outlets, NEMA 14-30 dryer outlets, NEMA 10-30 dryer outlets or NEMA 6-50 outlets. Never force the plug into a mismatched receptacle.

Built for Travel and Outdoor Charging

The portable charger is ETL Listed and includes temperature monitoring designed to reduce or stop charging if unusual heat is detected. Its IP55-rated construction and the extension cable’s IP66-rated protection support indoor and outdoor charging when all connections are kept away from standing water.

No Household Extension Cord Required

The included J1772 extension connects on the vehicle side between the charger handle and the EV. Do not use an ordinary household extension cord between the NEMA 14-50 outlet and portable charger.

Confirm Before You Arrive

Reserve a location with a compatible NEMA 14-50 electrical hookup and ask whether EV charging is permitted. Do not use an outlet that is loose, damaged, discolored, wet or unusually warm.
