The Adapter Finder recognizes common North American EV charging outlets — NEMA 5-15, 5-20, 6-20, 6-50, 10-30, and 14-30, and 14-50 — as well as vehicle-side J1772 and NACS charging ports. If your outlet doesn't match a known type, the tool will let you know rather than guess.

Most non-Tesla Level 1 and Level 2 portable chargers use a J1772 connector, which requires a J1772-to-NACS adapter to plug into a Tesla vehicle. The Adapter Finder will confirm this from your photo and link you directly to the correct adapter for your specific charger.
A NEMA 14-50 (the standard 240V RV/range outlet) plugs directly into most Level 2 portable EV chargers rated for 14-50 without any adapter needed. If your charger instead has a different plug — like 14-30 or 6-50 — you'll need the matching NEMA adapter, which the Adapter Finder will identify for you.
