The Type 2 Cable to Keep in Your Boot

Many public and workplace AC chargers provide a Type 2 socket but no attached cable. The WenStorm 5m Type 2 Charging Cable connects these untethered stations directly to your vehicle, giving you a practical everyday cable for public charging, office parking and socketed home wallboxes.

Its compact 16A design is lighter and easier to store than higher-current 32A cables while supporting up to 11kW AC charging with compatible three-phase equipment.

• Up to 11kW Three-Phase AC Charging: Supports up to 16A per phase and 11kW when both the charging station and vehicle support three-phase AC charging. Actual power is determined by the lowest-rated part of the charging setup.
• Understand Your Charging Speed: On a compatible 16A single-phase connection, charging may be limited to approximately 3.7kW. On a 22kW station, this cable limits charging to a maximum of 11kW. Choose a 32A cable if your vehicle and charging setup require more than 11kW.
• Type 2 to Type 2 Connection: Connects a charging station or wallbox with a Type 2 socket to a vehicle with a Type 2 AC inlet. It is not a standalone charger and does not plug directly into a household or industrial power point.
• Compatible With Most Australian Type 2 EVs: Suitable for compatible Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, BYD, MG, BMW and other vehicles with a Type 2 AC inlet. If your vehicle has a CCS2 port, the cable connects to the upper Type 2 section for AC charging. Check your vehicle’s port and onboard AC charging specifications before ordering.
